If I have a given X,Y, can I detect if another Window resides there? ~ JD

Hmm, I'm not sure how much simplification could be applied to a function that takes a POINT and returns an HWND. What do you mean by "simplifies"? WindowFromPoint is pretty simple.
If your problem is that you don't want to use the POINT struture then use
something like this:
-------------------
#include <windows.h>
HWND WindowFromPoint(long x, long y)
{
POINT p = { x, y };
return ::WindowFromPoint(p);
}
-------------------
