Hi everybody I'm trying to get a list of all the serial ports that are on a machine ie COM1, COM2 etc. I found an API function called GetSerialPortsList, this returns a char pointer with all available comm ports in it, However I get Unresolved external symbol error. Does anyone know how to get this running or do they know another method for finding the available commports on a system? Thanks in advance Andrew

Windows uses Configuration Manager's functions for enumeration devices. Configuration Manager is a part of DDK but available for using without building DDK environment. You can use C++ Builder for enumeration. TPortControl component can do enumeration in design and real time (source code and help file included): http://codecentral.borland.com/codecentral/ccweb.exe/listing?id=16567 Now I am finishing article about enumeration and managing FIFO control(and put it on codeproject site about some days). Vladimir.
