Appologies for cross posting but on reflecion this probably should have gone
here rather than vclcomponents
I have an application where I ned to handle the EM_SCROLL message in a Rich
edit - I have SubClassed the WindowProc for the TRichEdit and used hte
follwoing routine.
void __fastcall TForm1::MyAsciiProc(TMessage &Message)
{
OldAsciiProc(Message);
if( (Message.Msg == EM_SCROLL)
Posn->Perform(Message.Msg, Message.WParam, Message.LParam);
}
Placing a break point inside this routine shows either that the EM_SCROLL
message is not generated or that it isnot getting to this routine - any one
got any ideas. I have searched through the MER archive and the only
references to subclssing that I see are for WM messages not EM messages.

It is a copy of the WM_NOTIFY message that is sent to the RichEdit's parent window. Test the NMHDR's code member for the EN_HSCROLL and EN_VSCROLL notifications instead. You'll have to first send the RichEdit an EM_SETEVENTMASK message with the EN_SCROLL mask to enable the notifications. Also have a look at the ENM_KEYEVENTS mask as well to enable the EN_MSGFILTER notification. Gambit
