I wish to place a link in a Text Document. That Links to Either -: a part of the same document. or a part of another open document. Its the actual visual Link I need Where the cursor changes to a hand. I was rather hoping i could attain this without resorting to HTML. Although if i have to so be it. I am Using Win32 Free Borland Compiler. Any Pointers would be appreciated. Thanks In Advance --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Even if you had BCB, you would need a text-displaying component that performs this task. Although some less well known third-party components have been mentioned occasionally here, the most common multi-line Edit and Rich-Text edit controls (which are part of Windows) won't do what you want without substantial programming and probably visible latency. HTML and an HTML control is probably the best way to proceed. This has the additional advantage of being less Microsoft and Windows-bound a choice! -- Timothy H. I take on board what you say . So my next question is, does anyone know where i can find a Control, that can be used inside a Window To display HTML or similar. At a push text only will do. I am trying to achieve a read only Display with embedded text links Much the same as the display achieved in the Win32 Programmers Reference itself. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. The answer depends on the compiler you're using, and to a small extent, on the version of the OS your user has. Most of us here have BCB, so we can use TEdit, TRichEdit, and the HTML edit that come with BCB. They're all based on (in fact, wrappers for) Microsoft controls that are either included in Windows (Edit, RichEdit), or given away by Microsoft. Your issue, I think, is writing a pure API program to use them. Perhaps someone in borland.public.cpp.borlandcpp can help you. I bought BCB so I wouldn't have to answer those questions for myself, so I'm not qualified to answer you-sorry! -- Timothy H.
