Hi there I am doing a FindFirstFile ....etc. But the result contains both RECYCLER and the System Volume Information folders what do i need to sort those out, so that they won't be in my result. ?? Are they called the same no matter what language the OP is using ?? Thanks in advance Asger

You should check the resulting WIN32_FIND_DATA dwFileAttributes member for having FILEATTRIBUTE_SYSTEM and/or FILEATTRIBUTE_HIDDEN set, and eventually discard the found item. Have a look at the help files. > Are they called the same no matter what language > the OP is using ?? I can't tell you for the System Volume Information folder, but for the Recycler, the answer is NO. (For instance, on the Win95 German system here the folder name is 'Recycled'.) Martin
