Hi. The .NET Framework class library from Microsoft desribes a RegistyPermission class, and provides a C++ example to make readable a registry key. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpref/html/frlrfsystemsecuritypermissionsregistrypermissionclasstopic.asp) I admit my ignorance: I don't know what does .NET mean and how to use it. May I use the RegistryPermission class from within my old dear C++ Builder 3 Pro ???? And how ? Thanks from Alvise. ========================================== visit my web pages for the programmer at: http://www.hochfeiler.it/alvise

You cannot use anything from .NET in Builder at all. .NET is a completely separate framework and is only accessible by apps specifically written to support the .NET platform. Builder does not currently support .NET at all. And certainly not a version as old as BCB3. If your just looking to use the registry for simple reading and writing (ie.
Read and Write keys) you can use the TRegistry class.
TRegistry *Reg = new TRegistry;
if(Reg->OpenKey("MyKey", false))
{
AnsiString MyData = Reg->ReadString("SomeData");
Reg->CloseKey();
}
delete Reg;
