I've added support drag and drop operations with a custom component before but how do I do it with a vcl component? The dde component would be my first guess but there are two. This should be something easy; right? Greg Brewer

Yes, but this is a VCL issue and you're better of in the vcl.components.using group. Read the thread: Date: Wed, 11 Dec 2002 17:06:19 -0500 From: "Jason W. Dynamic Data Exchange component. Actually, there are 4: DdeClientConv, DdeClientItem, DdeServerConv, DdeServerItem. > > but there are two. > Which two ? I wasn't sure and this is applicable to both so I cross posted. It could be that OLE is better suited to what I want. My previous experience was with Dde though. > Read the thread: > Date: Wed, 11 Dec 2002 17:06:19 -0500 > From: "Jason W. This discuss moving components on a form. I want to have it so that you can drop a file onto my form and have the form be able to receive the file and process it. Similar to what happens when you drag a file onto the program editor. In the case of Builder, it will open the file if you drag a .cpp file onto it. Greg

You can do a Google search with "drop from explorer" and you will find much. Hans.
