Question: JBuilder dbSwing components with InterBase and multiusers I want to use InterBase and dbSwing components in a multiuser situation i.e. multiclients networking with InterBase as the database server. I am interested in how dbSwing and InterBase handle accessing the same records and that type of stuff. The JBuilder manuals do not discuss how to use dbSwing components in a multiuser environment. Is there documentation or a web site which discusses these situations. Any feedback is appreciated.

I don't get the impression that very many people use dbSwing, but I could be wrong. -Craig -- Craig Stuntz [TeamB] Vertex Systems Corp. Columbus, OH Delphi/InterBase Weblog : http://delphi.weblogs.com InterBase Perf. These are and should be separate issues. You "bind" a "Model" to a "View" your multi-user issues should be handled by the Model and the database server, your view, in this case dbswing, only displays the model. (actually IMO mostly all multiuser issues are handled by the database server..with exception of the resolver issues, but that is another discussion..) Suggestions.. Study up on MVC architecture (Model,View, Controller) and the JDBC architecture (Sun web site). Read up on the DataExpress architecture in the papers found in the link below, and then post any further questions on the view (dbswing) in the dbswing section and any database specific ( model/DataExpress) issues here..
