Hi! I've installed InterBase, and the install logs do not show any error. ibmgr -startup however returns check $INTERBASE/interbase.log file for errors can not start server This file tells me hostname (Server) date/time SERVER/process_packet: connection rejected for <user> where <user> is either root or a newly created user interbase. I have been unable to find anything about this in the documentation - does anybody know this problem? Thanks in advance Volker -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Volker Wegert - vwegert@web.de - - http://www.bistromath.de - ICQ 8818899 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - God, root - what is the difference? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

You need to have localhost in your /etc/hosts.equiv

Best wishes Marco Francesconi
