Write a selectable stored procedure that returns the data with the
running balance included. Assume the procedure is named RunningBalance.
Next create a view that uses the following SELECT.

SELECT FLD1, FLD2, FLD3, ETC FROM RUNNINGBALANCE

The section on views in the Data Definition Guide explains how you can
add triggers to a view to allow you to update a view that would not
normally be updateable. This would allow users of the application to
edit the result set returned by the stored procedure.
