I found this statement on JGuru regarding the mail.jar file. "Here's something of note that we found while coming up with the solution. The Java Mail package has a manifest as well as other textual data at the root of the jar package it is deployed in. If you try to include the Mail package in your own application package it will fail because your package will have its own manifest, not the one the JavaMail needs. Therefore, you MUST always use the mail API in your classpath, never as part of your own package. Strange if you ask me, but at least w figured it out. " How do I meet this requirement when compiling in JBuilder? If I do not include the jar file as part of the library files, the app does not compile. If I do include it as a library, then it seems that it will be compiled as part of another jar which violates the statement given above. It works just fine under JBuilder but not as a stand alone app. I put impar.jar, smtp.jar, pop3.jar, and mail.jar in one JBuilder library. I put the activation framework in another library and added both libraries to the project. I also put all of the extracted files from the META-INF directory in a META-INF directory directly below my source path. As a last resort, I added the META-INF directory to a library and >added that library to the project as just a class path. > >I still get the following error. > >javax.mail.NoSuchProviderException: No provider for Address >type: rfc822 > >Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated. > >Thanks, > >Roy McBrayer
