It seems like the AWT Choice class is slow when inserting items into the combo box list. From experimenting with 'addItem', it takes an average of 20ms to add 1 single item. This is to slow when we are handling more than 400 items. This results in slow GUI updates which ends up thinking this is not a very 'attracktiv' application. Doing the same operation on a listbox seems to work ok. (Typical 1ms each item). Is there any way we can work around this problem, or will it be solved in the next release (jdk 1.2) ? How about Swing? Does it handle Combo boxes any better? Thank's. Geir.
