I have a Java app. with only a text area control. I instantiate it with some text (from the Inspector) and also set the Caret Position (also from the Inspector) to a value other than zero. Compiles no problem but I get a runtime error "java.awt.IllegalComponentStateException: Cannot set caret position until after the peer has been created". What's going on here and how can I set the caret position to other than zero?? Mark Macpherson
