Java is cross-platform, so you compile it once for both machines. Now
that means you will have to place on the command line:
java yourprogram.class
to run the program from the DOS command prompt while Windows 95 is
running. It won't run without Windows 95 running, as far as I know.
You then have to ensure that the person who runs yourprogram has java
runtime installed.
Finally, there is no character-based menuing in Java, as far as I
know. It would have to be a windowed application using AWT.
