I'm standing in front of beginning a programming task, i'm to do a menu-driven system for DOS, which can be compiled on a Mac too. Is Java the tool for the job, or is C++ a better choice? I haven't worked with Java before, but i have used C++. Are there facilities in java for doing menues, like turbovision for turbopascal? C++? It still has to be compilable on a Mac. What is a good Java-book, when you have some experience with programming in other languages?
