Hi! I want to know if any of you can tell me what is the standard approche to establish a communication beetwen an applets, wich reside on a client WEB page, and a server application. I have to make some architectural choices about an intranet project devellopment, and I want to explore all resonable possibilities of implementations for the client application and the corporate server application. Typically, I would use CGI to pass informations back and forth beetwen the client and the WEB server, but I want to explore the possibilities that JAVA can offert to me. For exemple, maybe the standard way of doing this is by allowing the client applet(wich resides on a WEB page) to establish a TCP link with a server application. Or maybe I can use soome kind of RPC, CORBA or JavaBeans to link the client applets and the server application. And what about SERVERLET(or SERVLET)? Tank you! Joseph Raulet Le groupe Dynaflex inc.
