Who says web browsers are the center of it all (besides Netscape)? We (the proponents of Java the platform) have to think outside of the envelope. All a web browser does for Java, and has ever done for Java, is to provide a default implementation of a ClassLoader - so you can start a Java application and have all the needed classes get pulled automatically. This is a very small amount of code. Why not put that very small amount of code in a very small shell that accesses a high-speed class server and starts your application across the internet... Leave HTML and web browsers to the massive number of consumers that are playing with the new replacement to television. Application designers must think about the 'bigger picture' of the internet. - Joe Nuxoll
