Java based reporting tools have been under way from some companies for
about a year now -- they're just not done. The language does present
some interesting challanges in this arena. It wasn't until 1.1 that any
real ability to print even existed in the language which makes report
tools a little harder. I think Crystal Reports has been working on
theirs the longest (I remember at least one press release from them on
the subject).
