Cuffel (cuffell@cs.colorado.edu) wrote: : While I will freely admit to my personal dislike to the good Coach, : mostly for his dealing as a football coach and as an athletic director, : have no real problem with the PK's coming to Boulder. My complaints : are that they didn't have enough foresight to provide for the additional : law enforcement and traffic control personel needed for the concert. Both of which should have been REQUIRED by the "good" university, which offered the facilities to rent in the first place. While they freely admit they had both available "upon request" they certainly did nothing to require that the PK group make use of them. Nor did they suggest any measures be taken after the first day or two when it would have been obvious that both were necessary or simply step in and REQUIRE them on the spot when trouble began. CU is playing "big school" with inadequate resources, while raking in the dough and not caring what happens to the city of Boulder while the PK group uses their stadium. As long as the $$ keeps coming, they kindly stand around and watch. : And I AM concerned about special priveledges being extended to Coach Mac. : I find it very incongruous that there have only been one concert at : Folsom Field in the past few years, but the PK's can come and go as they : please. Why does posing this legitamate question make me an "dishonest" : dispenser of "misleading" "smokescreens"? You were so busy painting an : uncomplimentery portrait of me you didn't even say why was wrong. : Perhaps there is a reason... Note the above dollar signs. CU is always looking for a way to make a buck, be it football or research or renting out the stadium. UNC certainly doesn't go trolling for PK's business, do they? They know they don't have the facilities. Neither do CSU, Auraria, or any of the state funded schools in Southern Colorado. CU wants the PK group to stop by every summer for one reason.
