AWE INSPIRING!!!! Even these words cannot adequately describe my reaction to an article in the November 8, 1989 issue of _The Wall Street Journal_. A tinkerer has come up with a process and a minimal car conversion to take a normal auto and have it run on VEGETABLE OIL. That's right, the stuff you cook french fries in. It doesn't even have to be new oil, the used stuff will do (once you strain out the floaties). The only additive needed is a small amount of a mixture of water and methanol which is injected into the engine in order to keep the fuel injectors from clogging. Fuel efficiency is the same for diesel. At about $2.60 a gallon wholesale, the oil is more expensive. But that price could come down if enough people were to start using the fuel. The tinkerers modification allowed the use of either diesel or vegetable oil at a flip of a switch. Read the article, then comment or flame away! Hammy
