California gun owners, there is NO reason to be discouraged.  Hopefully,
Brian Puckett hasn't given away the farm YET!

Yes, yesterday brought a CA Supreme Court decision that went against us in
the Great Western / Nordyke case.  As explained in the post I forwarded from
NRA/CRPA lawyer Chuck Michel, the battle isn't over.  And remember, the
Great Western case has seen court victory on our side too...

And legislatively, so far in 2002 we've been totally successful (although
Brian Puckett may change *that* for all Californians!).  The only major
battle we had, we KICKED BUTT...

Last year, while we didn't manage to kill AB35/SB52, we caused it to be
TOTALLY GUTTED from the "registration, licensing and RE-licensing" and
expensive DOJ-administered handgun test" bill it started out as to a rehash
of the state BFSC system.  The fact that we TOTALLY defeated the predecessor
bill (AB273) completely in 2000 is the reason the antis scaled it so far
back (they knew it wouldn't pass in it's original onerous form)...

Last year we managed to kill $4 million bucks CA-DOJ was asking for, and
instead got money diverted to support firearms certification labs.

And ALL THIS WAS DONE WITH A DEMOCRAT GOVERNOR, AND DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY.  So actually, we've been doing pretty good lately.  If
we can manage to get a pro-gun governor elected, we'll start seeing about a
majority in the Assembly (although the trouncing we gave SB510 on the
Assembly floor was pretty impressive already!).

So cheer up - we've been holding our own pretty well since 1999.  And from
the anti-gunners point of view, I would think surprisingly so. We just won't
go away!  :-)

Remember, no matter what Brian Puckett, or KABA or any doom and gloom source
tells you - NEVER GIVE UP... NEVER!

After all, this is an *extremely* important election, and we've all got work
to do.  Are you up to it?
