Utah psychiatrist, Dr. Sarah Thompson, M.D., has authored a fascinating paper
on
the mentality of those who would disarm their neighbors. In a layman's
nutshell,
Dr. Thompson concludes that when a person says they want all guns taken away
because they don't want to be shot by their neighbor just because he has a bad
day, that what they are really saying is that they are afraid they can't be
trusted with weapons, and are attributing this problem to others because they
cannot admit to themselves they  have this problem.
