Aside from the $310 cash advance limits, and the "no late payments in a 6-month period = no service" rule, I've had no real complaints until now. Around September, I looked at my financial situation and found that I was spending myself into bankruptcy. As a cost-cutting measure, I cut up my credit cards. Recently, I find that I need them for emergencies (i.e. my health insurance now has a 34-day limit between prescriptions), and I called Citibank to get another card. The customer service representative said that a card MAY NOT be issued because I HAVE BEEN PAYING THE MINIMUM REQUIRED payment on a large balance, and that they would like me to pay more. I am no longer a Citibank fan. When the card is paid off, I may not keep it. For you pro-Citibank fans, I offer the first part of a story that I don't know the resolution for. I will post it when I find out. A few months ago, my sister, whose credit cards were confiscated by our father, received her bill from Citibank. On it were several hundred dollars in charges made at department stores in the Culver City area, during the previous month. Since she did not have the card, she called Citibank, and they told her they had sent her a new card because the old one had expired. She wrote a letter stating the claims were fraudulent and sent the amount she should have paid. On the day she wrote the letter, she received a letter from the Post Office's Loose Mail department. Inside was the envelope from Citibank, torn open and minus the credit card. I'll send more when I find out how it was resolved. -- I'm a man of fire It's a buring thing It'll burn on forever If you feed me baby
