The "deceptive practice" which Citibank is supposed to have engaged in is neither Citibanks nor deceptive. The news yesterday reported that mail drop boxes are being hit by gangs looking for credit cards which have not been delivered yet. They can steal these and use them for at least a month before the intended customer discovers the charges. All banks are being asked to devise an activation method to prevent this type of theft. I am not a Citibank lover. I have my own horror stories about them. But, they should not be held accountable for practices which are not theirs!
