 I as a new Den leader attended a Pow-Wow recently where older Boy Scouts
and new leaders were being trained and ran into a few problems with the
BSA recent recruitment of Latin Americans.

 The Monterey Bay Area Council Executive, a paid employee of the Scouts
and number one honcho for the area, was pushing this recruitment program
when he made the following statements;

    A. While explaining the need for this recruitment program he stated
       that this was necessary as "US WHITE FOLK AREN'T HAVING BABIES
       LIKE THE MEXICANS".

    B. And while qualifying who they were recruiting he stated "WE DON'T
       WANT THE BOY RIGHT OFF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK, WE WANT THE MIDDLE
       CLASS MEXICAN KIDS"

 I am just posting this for those people thinking of allowing their
children to join the scouts, beware of the leaders motives and please
be active with your kids so you can act as a watch dog over these people.

NOTE: I have reported this individual to the Western Regional Director and
      am now waiting for a response.
