No this is not about a a quaint dance or how we kiss in the cold ! About 3 months ago I contacted customs canada about importing fiberglass fiberglass tape , micro balloons , sillica , 3 gallons total of raka epoxy (epoxy + fast hardener + slow hardener). The gentleman who answered told me that this should be imported as a boat (3% duty) since in the end this would become a sabotina sail pram. He went on to say that I should get an official quote (he was not ready to garanty that this would be acceptable at the time of importation with out this!).This entailed that I submit all technical information I had on the products to be imported and proof that this would be used in the construction of a boat(in this case I sent a copy of the plan and instructions that also showed quantaties of products needed) and a letter in their approved style stating that I new of no illigal practice that this entailed with more identifying matter. I actually went thrue this! Now I've received a lettre asking that I submit samples of all of the above mentionned products in sufficient quantity for their testing! Do any of you have any experience with importing epoxy from RAKA(or others for that matter) if so how and in what quantity. There must be a better way ? Feel free to E-mail me if you feel this is of local interest only , but please ALL Canadians respond!!! Maurice d'Halewyn St-Eustache (a montreal suburb) Province of Quebec Canada
