The students in demonstration as well. They think taxpayers must
spend $$ for university. For me, it is just a waste of money.
High school education is good enough for most of the people in
reality.
Besides, what the professors (or teachers) do in the class is to tell
you whatever in the textbook. You can't read textbook by yourself ?
I know most people can't unfortunately... but if they decide to spend
money for going through the textbook, that's their choice. They
shouldn't blame someone or asking someone (i.e. taxpayer) money.

I will be opening up my business in my future. I have enough
capital to start first one (and actually most of students here do but
they rather spend in going through the textbook at university). I
have to consult Canadian immigration authorities when I decide to
immigrate here and hire people... and like myself... the ones who hire
others usually don't have universiy degree unfortunately... At least
I won't rely on welfare... like other university students who can't
repay the "debts" afterwards... choosing the job and saying that
working at firstfood restaurant is sucks (is this acceptable ?). I
wrote a similar article at
http://www.radiotelephone.net/mcgill/right.htm

By the way, getting hired doesn't mean you know when you get fired.
There are a lot of news around us... cutting the jobs... top rated
companies. Look through your today's newspaper.
Recently, we had a person with PhD ,who had around 10 kids, lost his
job due to merging of school districts. I don't know how things are
going. I just wanted to make a point that university degree won't
guarantee your future at all. Doctorate degree won't guarantee your
future. My friends believe and "trust" in university degree. They
think they can guarantee their future by studying hard (and paying the
tuition to "myths") to get a university degree. I say there is a
danger for this kind for thoughts and our society shouldn't support
this type of stereotypical minds. You might argue that becoming a
teacher requires one to hold a university degree. That's true. But
once you get a degree, it doesn't mean you will get a job
automatically and you shouldn't blame someone for your fault of making
wrong choice (Go to the place called Penticton, BC, the place where I
used to live. There used to be a lot of umemployed teachers.
Actually it wasn't only the problem in Penticton, but the problem in
all over BC.)

My father was a very poor person. His family didn't have money.
Therefore, he couldn't go to university. (I wouldn't be sure if he
had proper things to eat.) However, it didn't mean he couldn't
succeed. It didn't mean he couldn't study anything nor get a job.
He learned English and German by himself (i.e. textbooks and tapes)
and he became very proficient in those languages now. He could fix
basically all the technical devices...learning electrical circuits and
etc. without going to the schools. Again all of this, he didn't
graduate from university nor technical school nor language institute.
He didn't blame anyone (i.e. for being poor, not being able to go to
university etc.) but he was very positive about achieving his hopes.

Contrary, the results that turned out were very positive as well.

I just wanted to make a point that university degree (or whatever)
would not be the only way to prove (?) that you would be educated,
superior nor successful.

Regards.
