Let 2x-1 be Craig's age
Let x be Colin's age
3(2x-1)+2x=45
6x-3+2x=45
8x-3=45
8x=48
x=6 (Colin's age)
2x-1=11 (Craig's age)
Craig is 11 and Colin is 6.
