The Calgary school boards have the same age cut-off. I don't know if maturity at ECS entrance is always a good indication of maturity at jr. high school especially for boys. (i know this is a sexist comment but I have a daughter in Gr.8 who was held back a year - Feb3 birthdate - and she finds all of the boys in her school far too 'young'). I am coming up on the same decision with my youngest child whose birthdate is Jan8/93. I will watch with interest the result of this question. pmaguire@freenet.edmonton.ab.ca wrote: : Our school district is reviewing the implications of our Kindergarten : Entrance Age cut-off - currently must be five before March 1 - and would : appreciate some observations from teachers and others.
