From what I've read so far everyone seems to dislike all of the large
local services. I have accounts with some of the largest internet
providers in town (No I'm not an internet junky they are promo-test
accounts)

Internet Direct:
Large Customer base. I don't seem to have trouble getting on but many
do. People forget that they have 2 phone lines. I believe they have
around 1500 modems. No problems loggin on there. Only problem is that
they have so many users that their T3 connection gets bogged down every
now and then. Don't seem to have a problem. In the last 6 months only 10
mins of downtime.

Mindlink:
Their 10MegaBit system seems to be able to handle more traffic but
most likely just have a smaller customer base. In terms of connecting.
Maybe 5 minute wait on the worst occasion but I usually get on right
away.

Sympatico
Not bad. Of course the customer service kind of lacks. Too many
menus on their tech support line. In terms of Modems.. Noone can tell
us. Everyone says that "BCTEL CAN HAVE UNLIMITED LINES" well I guess
their right.. but it doesn't help if they don't have modems hooked up to
them. Don't know what their connection is either.

DeepCove
	GONE.

I'm using WIndows 95 to dial up to these services. It is much easier to
use Windows 95's Dial-up-networking than to use old TRUMPET WINSOCK.
Also using both Internet Explorer 3.0 Netscape 3 and Eudora Pro 3. For
those of you still using the old browsers I suggest you move to version
3.0 They are MUCH faster than the older versions. And they are FREE.
Don't get sucked into buying versions. Unless you really want the
manual. Quite simply, WEB BROWSERS ARE SIMPLE. They are not like Word
processors that require all of these special formatting and layout
procedures. It's just point and click. There are other options but are
usually quite easy to understand. And if you don't know how to do
something just ask some one. Feel free to e-mail me.

Any how.. there's my 2 cents worth.
