Tschou zm;
AVP berrascht mich immer mehr. Nachdem sie schon in der Windows
Welt einer der besten Virenscanner-hersteller sind, haben sie gerade
einen weiteren Coup gelandet.
Kaspersky Lab announces AVP for Linux
Moscow, Russia, March 5, 1999 -- Kaspersky Lab, a leading
European anti-virus software development company, today introduced
the first public beta-version of AntiViral Toolkit Pro (AVP) for
the Linux operating system.
Linux is very popular amongst a growing circle of computer
professionals. Reliable integrated systems for anti-virus
protection were not available for Linux until recently.
Kaspersky Lab is among the first companies to develop a
professional anti-virus system for the Linux platform.
AVP for Linux is based on the world-famous, powerful AVP Engine.
The AVP Engine is licensed for use in anti-virus products of
well-known software companies such as Data Fellows (Finland),
G-Data (Germany), Vintage Solutions (Japan). Its excellence is
confirmed by numerous awards AVP received from many
international magazines and virus research centres.
AVP for Linux provides reliable protection from more
than 26 000 known computer viruses and malicious code including
polymorphic, stealth, script, macro-viruses and trojan horses.
The currently available AVP version also includes support for
most of the popular archiving and packing formats, Email
attachment formats. In addition AVP has advanced heuristics to
find many new, not yet known viruses.
AVP supports the most used Linux platform - Linux Intel.
AVP for Linux' distinction is the compatibility with AVP
versions for other platforms - they all share the same set of
antivirus databases. This feature provides Linux users
with an anti-virus security level equal to users of commercial
operating systems.
The now available beta-version includes the anti-virus scanner.
Users can download the must current common platform antivirus
database-set seperately as described on our web-sites. AVP is
usually updated weekly, so don't forget to check back
often.
Considering the principles of Linux distribution, Kaspersky Lab
made the decision to distribute AVP for Linux on the same terms.
Everyone can obtain the latest version of this product from our
World Wide Web sites http://www.avp.ru, http://www.avp.ch,
http://www.avp.com.
AVP for Linux is completely free of charge
Kaspersky Lab is a fast-growing European company with offices
in Moscow, Russia and Dublin, Ireland. Having started our business
in 1992 we concentrate our efforts in development of
world-leading anti-virus technologies and software.
Kaspersky Lab has distributors, resellers and VARs in more
than 40 countries world-wide. AVP is available in English,
French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish,
Swedish and Ukrainian.
