I went through that recently with my business Uverse account. I called the 
number on a letter and after letting me walk through my problem told me I 
was at the wrong department. 4 transfers later I was disconnected. I found 
a place to chat with support online and had it fixed relatively quickly. 

They really need to work on their account integration. My problem was a 
simple username and password issue.
