I'm not one to be too picky about which newsgroups things get posted in,
unless it has to do with commercial businesses. That is a definite no-no
to me at least.

In the last week, I've seen ads for everything from car detailing places
to one of those "Earn Extra Income" deals. Not only in chi.forsale where
I don't think they belong anyhow, but also cross-posted to chi.wanted and
chi.general where they definitely don't belong.

If I wanted Prodigy, I'd pay for that instead of my fone bill for UUCP
feeds. Usually it's not so bad, but lately it's been getting worse with
these ads. Most of them have been coming from one particular site as well.

So what could I (we - if anyone else is irritated) do? If most are from
a particular site should I notify the admin? Should I just e-mail
all my termcap entries to the offender?

Usually I just hit 'n' for the next message and ignore it, but lately
there have been as many ads on chi.general as anything else. I have
this bad feeling I'm sounding like a fascist, but don't mean to. I read the
forsale stuff, too, but it's a pain to find this "junk-mail" all over
the chi.* postings.

So if someone with more experience in these situations could tell me how
to approach it, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure about "nettiquette" in
this situation.

Thanks --
-Louis
