My system sends : "tip", I receive the text paragraph and "CONNECTED", but I never get the : "cc-tip>" prompt. Eventually I just time out. Those are 2 different problems and I've gotten both. The cc-tip>clout ... [Connection ... close by foreign host] happens when clout crashes (I guess due to memory problems?) The CONNECTED and then hang is due to some goofy modem problem I would guess. One of the modems seems to be tempermental and if you happen to connect to that one, you just hang there. That one happens even when clout is working. I can tell because if I log on at school and when the closed by foreign host happens I can't telnet to clout. But if the CONNECTED problem happens, I can telnet and everything OK (I can't logon since I don't have an account, but clout responds and everything). Find that modem and put it out of its misery! -Louis -- -------------------------------------------------------------------- Louis J. Giliberto, Jr. ! magus@drktowr.chi.il.us -sysadmin drktowr !
