Happy 70th anniversary, CBS World News Roundup. It began with a prime time news special in 1938 concerning Germany's annexation of Austria with Edward R. Murrow via short wave from Europe. When I was a kid, Dallas Townsend was the anchor for several decades, and Douglas Edwards with the melifluous voice was the evening anchor during the period when it was called "World Tonight". It's World News Roundup, Evening Edition, now. These days, I hardly ever listen to WBBM radio. There are an unreasonable number of commercials. Huh. They just did an interview with Richard C. Hottelet, still alive. they play only 9 minutes these days.
