Quote from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Tue. Feb. 13, 1996, Page 6-A. So much for suspense. When CNN's Bernard Shaw and Judy Woodruff came on the air at 8 p.m. EST last night, they immediately declared Senate Majority Leader Bod Dole the winner of the Iowa Republican caucuses, ALTHOUGH THE VOTING HAD NOT YET BEGUN. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Forty minutes later, Woodruff announced: "CNN is declaring that commentator Pat Buchanan will come in second....And we are declaring that Lamar Alexander will come in third." ------------*************End Quote***********----------------- Talk about influencing the vote. WHAT HAPPEN TO THE RIGHT TO VOTE IN THIS COUNTRY???????????? Who died and made CNN KING. In many countries in europe, it is against the law for the news media to broadcast or print any polls, or to make any statements that could influence the election 30 days prior to that election. The people have the right to make up their own minds about the canidates. Not to be influenced that their cause or canidate will lose based on some poll. Maybe it is time we have this law in the United States also. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12
