Adriatico's 265 W.11th Ave 421-2300 12' Pep & Mush, $10.50 The pie; The crust is very good...crispy on the edges, but, a little soft in the middle. This could be to the high grease content. The sauce is very good. Spiced just right, with a hint of garlic. I would have liked to have more on my pie though. The toppings were good. The pepperoni slices are very large, and sliced thin. the mushrooms appeared canned, but had good flavor. The cheese is thick and tasty, but that may be some of the reason for some of the excess grease. This is a very hearty pie, with lots of flavor, but somewhat greasy. I actually saw the staff "dabbing" each pie with paper towels out of the oven, to absorb the excess grease. I give this pie a 7.5. The place; The dinning area is small, and you can tell they tried to get as many seats as they could to fit. They also use part of the dinning room as storage for pizza boxes, and bulk drinks. The seating was adequate, even though slightly crowded. The chairs are padded, along with the benches, but there were some cuts and tears. The floor, seats, and tables were clean enough, but the fixtures and windowsills were very dirty. The front counter is cluttered, and seemed too busy. The atmosphere is good. They have three elevated televisions, one of them a small widescreen. There is some "chatting" noise, but that is expected given the cramped area. The kitchen folks were also louder than they should have been. The serving speed is slow. Expect to wait the full 25 minutes for a small pie. The wait staff is generally average if not slightly below. While they were adequate in attending to our needs, and refilling drinks, don't expect any big smiles or "Have a nice day, come again!" sayings. Additional note: I have been informed by both, staff members, and patrons, that this building has a bad cockroach problem. Since I may not have this type of inside information at other restaurants, and I have not witnessed the problem myself, I will not take it into consideration on my rating, but felt I should share the information here. I give this place a 4.5. That gives Adriatico's an eat-in score of 6. -The Pizza Nazi _____ This is a weekly installment of a pizza critic called The Pizza Nazi. The Pizza Nazi is a 43 year old campus native, and will critic an OSU local pizza shop every week. He will always try to keep a standard of eating in, and ordering the same type of pizza. He will separate the pie rating, from the restaurant rating, in the event some shops don't offer eat-in capabilities. The Pizza Nazi welcomes opinions, comments, disagreements, and even suggestions. The final rating system will be on a 1 to 10 scale, and is as follows: 1- very poor, terrible, very bad 2- poor, not good, bad 3- needs lots of improvement, borderline bad 4- needs some improvement, but not bad 5- adequate, average, not good or bad 6- slightly above average, pretty good 7- well above average, good 8- very good 9- suburb, hard to improve on 10- the best, great, perfect
