Hi Folks, This time last week I posted a request for help, info, etc re: an EBNF for the GURU and EXSYS rule compilers. Well folks, below is the summary, as promised, of all the responses I recieved. Not a lot to go by, but my thanks to Jana Koehler for offering a copy of thesis and to Gary and Geoff for atc least writing to express their interest, if not any hard facts. Make of it what you will, I will be deriving the EBNF's over the next few weeks and they will eventually make their way onto the ftp site here at loki (October??). greetings, Shane. ------ ================================================================================ Date: Wed, 15 Apr 1992 10:02:38 +1000 From: webb@cm.deakin.OZ.AU (Geoff Webb) Subject: Re: EBNF for EXSYS and GURU I would be very grateful if you could summarise your results to this newsgroup or forward them direct to me. Thanks, Geoff. ================================================================================ From: "Jana Koehler" <koehler@dfki.uni-sb.de> Date: Wed, 15 Apr 1992 11:02:54 +0200 Subject: ebnf Hi, in 1987 i wrote my diploma thesis about a comparison of various expert system shells. It contains also a EBNF of the language used for the rules e.g. in exsys. But it is very short (only one page) and surely covers not all of the today's system. Also the version I investigated was incomplete. The text is also in german. If you don't find any better references I can send it to you. greetings jana koehler german research for ai koehler@ dfki.uni-sb.de ================================================================================ From: Gary Rozenblat <gary@markv.com> Subject: Rule Compilers Date: Thu, 16 Apr 92 18:33:11 PDT Hi! Saw your post about rule compilers, but unfortunately, I have no info to share. However, I would really appreaciate either a summary on the net, or a copy of the replies, as well as any references for rule compilation in general. ================================================================================ From: "Jana Koehler" <koehler@dfki.uni-sb.de> Date: Wed, 22 Apr 1992 10:10:51 +0200 Subject: Re: ebnf Hi shane, I found an old copy of the chapterand I will send it to you. I hope, you will not be disappointed because it is only a short overview of the systems and about 5 years old and also considers the systems only in their version for IBM-PC. greetings, jana koehler DFKI ================================================================================ -- | Shane Kershaw "Life!
