The Editorial Board of the Australian Journal of Intelligent Information
Processing Systems has decided to run a Special Issue on Robotics. The theme
of the issue is "Robotics: Real World AI". Papers that report the 
implementation of AI theory on real robots are of particular interest. 
Submissions should draw attention to the research issues that can only be 
properly investigated by physical implementation rather than completely 
relying on computer simulation. Submissions from the broad spectrum of robotics
research are welcome: Robot manipulators, mobile robots, multiple-robot systems
and human-robot systems. Implementations using various types of computational
architectures such as neural nets, behaviour based and classical planning 
approaches are sought.

Submission of Papers
 
The papers should be original work, not appearing in any other journal, 
although extended versions of conference papers may be considered. The 
authors are expected to obtain all relevant copyright releases for any 
copyrighted material included in their paper.

Authors should send to the Guest Editor 4 (four) copies of the complete 
manuscript. The paper, including an abstract, should not exceed 20 pages,
double-spaced in Times font, 10 point.

To allow for anonymous refereeing, a separate page should be included 
containing the authors' names, affiliations, manuscriptUs title and the 
abstract. Authors' names and affiliations should not appear on the manuscript.

Enclose a technical biography and a photograph of each author of the paper.

IMPORTANT DATES

March 24 1995 	Expressions of Interest. Authors interested in submitting a
		paper should send email to the Guest Editor.

May 12 1995	Deadline for Submission of Papers.

June 30 1995 	Notification of Acceptance.

July 28 1995	Submission of Camera Ready Copy.

October	1995    Special Issue Published.
