I, too, had problems with Excel 3.0a. In my case, it was reading dBase files incorrectly and truncating some columns of numerical data. I don't remember the exact column #. Funny thing was, Excel 3.0, didn't exhibit the problem! I reported the whole thing to Microsoft (I paid the damned phone bill!!!) and they agreed to look into it. About a week later, they called back and said they duplicated the bug but didn't find the problem. I asked what they could offer to help me finish my project (analyzing large data sets) and they promised to send my Q+E and some technical books on Excel. About a week later, some disks arrived in the mail, no paper, no documentation, no books. I don't think I ever fired up Q+E. I haven't bothered to report any more bugs to Msoft -- the $20-$30 phone charges wasn't worth the 1 or 2 Q+E disks. -chris
