For TCP/IP connectivity (terminal emulation, remote printing, X windows, rsh, ftp, nsf, smtp,
rpc/xdr and even sockets) we use an IBM 3172 lan channel station which is channel connected 
to the host on on side and attached to our token-ring on the other (ethernet attachment is
also alaivable). The IBM hosts run IBM's TCP/IP products. The entire thing is transparent
to the Sun and operates at lan speeds.
