For general information.  Perhaps the best place for cd-rom related
questions, which are not connected to MsDos archives or the
utilities on them, is alt.cd-rom (the followups have been redirected
to go in there). 

What I have in my config.sys using hitachi.sys is

It's not easy to answer such question without any clue of information. What
you at least should have included is the following:
  - Brand of computer.
  - CD-Rom card.
  - Any add. card.
  - Version of all the software involved.
  - Your autoexec.bat and config.sys file.

You are welcome to email me this information and I'll answer your question.
I do not belive this question belongs in CAM.d since it's a forum for
discussion of CAM material.
