I've just placed a new version of the WATTCP FTP program
on sunee.uwaterloo.ca in pub/wattcp/ftp.zip
This version fixes about half of the problems people have
mentioned. You may want to keep a copy of the old version
in case I goofed up and my preliminary testing didn't show
it.
Changes:
includes simple command line scrollback. nothing exceptional
but certainly better than before
remote (often Unix) and DOS filenames are done a little more
intelligently. If you only specify either source or destination,
FTP now removes path and drive information from the implied
parameter.
And when a remote name has multiple extensions and you are
using mget or just an implied DOS destination file, the new
DOS extension is created from the first letter of each
extension and then filled out to the full 3 letters.
eg. timely.tar.z becomes timely.tz
alt.grasshopper.tar becomes alt.gta
mput/mget bugs fixed. Small enhancement, when you are mgetting
a bunch of files but forgot to set noninteractive mode, one of
the accepted answers to the prompt is R for rest of files
non-interactive.
ls now works in binary mode. Pretty stupid bug!
I am looking at all the other suggestions already sent in, just
this is all I have done so far.
