Hi.  I said that I'd have the 3c509 packet driver ready by today, but
I don't.  I'm looking for more beta testers, so that I can shake the
driver down faster.  Here are the known bugs:

  o The driver is either deaf or dumb when run on a Compaq Deskpro 286e
    over twisted pair.  The work-around is to use the AUI port, or to run
    the IPX driver first.

  o I have seen it botch the EISA configuration, even after I supposedly
    fix it.  I was not able to reproduce it.  The symptoms I saw was that
    the driver was deaf (but not dumb).

Please report bugs!  Even if you can't reproduce them.  Even if
they're the same as above.  Chances are, if you're having problems, so
is someone else.

Because these drivers are beta test, please be prepared to replace
them with the real distribution.

Documentation.  Oh, you wanted documentation?  Sorry, this is test
software, you have to wait for the real release.  :)  Just run the
driver with the desired packet driver interrupt -- it asks the board
for everything else it needs to know.

The drivers are only available by FTP, from cheetah.ece.clarkson.edu,
pub/3c509b.zip.
