Archive-name: auto/comp.unix.aix/version-2-07-of-lsof-available Version 2.07 of lsof is available via anonymous ftp from j.cc.purdue.edu (128.210.9.2) in pucc/lsof2.tar.Z. Lsof (for LiSt Open Files) displays information on files opened by processes in the following versions of Unix: AIX 3.2, EP/IX 1.4.3, ETAV*, DYNIX 3.0.12 and 3.1, HP-UX 7.x and 8.x, IRIX 4.0.5, NeXTStep 3.0 and SunOS 4.1.[12]. Version 2 of lsof adds to version 1: support for root and parent directories; streams in ETAV and SunOS; text references in EP/IX and ETAV; and text and library references in AIX. The version 2 sources have been substantially reorganized and several additional Unix OS variants are supported. Version 1 of lsof first appeared in volume 25, number 2 of comp.sources.unix. (Its latest revision, 1.09, is also available on j.cc.purdue.edu in pucc/lsof.tar.Z.) Lsof is a successor to ofiles and fstat, also distributed in comp.sources.unix. Lsof added NFS support and recognition of many file reference nodes -- cdrnodes, devnodes, fifonodes, gnodes, inodes, rnodes, snodes, specnodes, tmpnodes and vnodes. It recognizes FIFOs, multiplexed files, Unix and Internet sockets. These features have been propagated to version 2.
