Archive-name: auto/comp.windows.x.motif/Motif-archives-now-available-for-ftp

The FAQ has said for a long time now that the Motif news group is not
ftp-available. No longer - I have been archiving this stuff for some
time now, and we have finally set up anonymous ftp into our machines.

If you ftp to csc.canberra.edu.au (137.92.1.1) with user-id "anonymous"
and password your own login address, the directory /pub/motif contains
the following:

	Motif-FAQ			 	always the current FAQ
	comp.windows.x.motif			newsgroup messages directory
	comp.windows.x.motif/motif.10.92	October 1992 messages
	.......					Other month's messages

Each file contains the messages that have been posted to this newsgroup
for about one month.  The file
	/pub/motif/comp.windows.x.motif/motif.11.91-2.92
contains the messages for the three months over last Christmas that I
was away. I have only made available stuff for the last year.

The files are all large - each about 1M.  They are ordinary Ascii mail
files (no, I won't compress them - I need to read them). You can use the
get/mget ftp commands to get copies. I don't think that we have mail-server
access, and the files are probably too large to be sent through the mail
anyway.

Note: although I also archive the motif-talk stuff, I don't think I can
make that available to non-OSF licencees. I sent mail to direct@osf.org
asking about this and never received a reply.
