Hi, 
	I am trying to implement a model of distributed database with 
concurrency features on the UNIX platform. My model consists of Transaction 
Manager, Comm. Manager, Lock Manager, Disk Manager and a client process on 
each site. Being a novice in system programming (interprocess comm., multi-
process communication etc.), can anyone offer me help/recommendation on 
the implementation issues or show me a model for reference? Thanks.

You may want to consider using the Kala persistent data server as an
engine for your DBMS. In the spirit of software reuse, Kala has
already tackled all of the issues you describe in a comprehensive,
industrial manner, and will give you a basis to focus on your data and
higher level models.
