?Access as DB2 prototyping tool

We have been using MSAccess (v2) as a development database for a
Visual Basic application targeted for MVS DB2 (using passthrough) and
have found a number of pecularities (e.g. SQL syntax of ORDER BY
different in Jet2.0 and DB2, Jet 2.5 cannot attach DB2 tables).

As Access offer a number of advantages (e.g. easy to move to windows
based laptop for demo, tight integration with VB) I wonder whether
anyone has done up a document that they can share on what are the
differences and how to provide workarounds.

Also interested in views whether there are other good development
databases alternatives (price, compatibility, functionality, ease of
setup), given that we will be using DB2 in production.

Please send a copy of your views to my email address as this is cross
posted to newsgroups that I do not visit frequently.

Thanks in advance for your contributions.
