I got my cable-modem installed one day and had my ISDN disconnected the
next, and got a refund from swbt for what was left...
But, having learned something from that experience, I would atleast keep my
dialup account active.. I can live with 33.6 for a few days (weeks,
actually.. @Home has NOT been very reliable), but I'd go "bonkers" with no
internet at all! :)
I didn't have any idea they were installing in my neighborhood till I
happened to check the www.home.com page one day and saw my city listed. I
had it installed, mof, weeks before they publicized the service at all..
IOW, just keep calling if you don't want to miss the actual "roll-out"...
