IPs and Tracerts

Good morning,

I got a question about why winipcfg reports different IP than actual.

I've got 3 machines registered with @home, b, e, and f.   All are set
DHCP and share the connection through a hub.

Machine b, the primary machine, has had the same IP for 18 months. A
winipcfg shows that the IP lease is renewed at least once a week, but
the IP has never changed. I do a tracert from work and get: Notice
that the tracert identifies this machine by name.  So far, so good;
well, except for the ping time on the last hop. Slow morning.

Machine f was assigned IP 24.19.214.45 about a year ago. A winipcfg
shows the IP is 65.0.145.249. Also, @home member services shows this as
the IP for f. However, when I tracert or ping the IP 65.0.145.249, I
time out, even though I know the machine is online, because I call home
to be sure. A ping or tracert to my long held 24.19.214.45 always
connects, and a tracert gives the results below. Question...why doesn't
my machine name appear, and why does winipcfg and @home indicate a
different IP?

Any help understanding this is much appreciated.
